About me
WHO AM I?
Hello there! I’m Dr.Harshini Yeluru, a BDS graduate and MDS aspirant who achieved an AIR 813 in NEET-MDS 2024.
Let me be real- During my undergrad, I was an above-average student who was high on college culturals and faced personal challenges (like a lot of you who are reading this blog right now). However, after graduating in 2023, I set my sights on securing an MDS seat as the first step towards my future.
Many of us start exploring further career options during our BDS days, navigating endless discussions about MDS, DDS, non-clinical jobs, MBA, MHA, and so on. Every student and intern in every college goes through this. I did too.
During my internship, I was feeling quite lost.
I wanted to branch out into other fields. Coming from a middle-class background, my career choices were pretty much predetermined (I’m guessing many of you can relate). BDS was the fallback after not scoring an MBBS seat in India, a compromise I had to make (sound familiar?).
Yet, the thought of “What if I’m good at other things too” was always nagging at the back of my mind. So, I decided it was time to test those waters.
Let’s face it—why limit ourselves to one path when the world is brimming with possibilities?
WHY I STARTED THIS BLOG?
I love writing. I wanted to dive into copywriting and explore a career as a blogger, so I took on a part-time gig as a content writer at a marketing firm. I mostly worked on clients’ Instagram content, blogs, and website copy. At first, it was exhilarating, but over time, I lost interest. I realised why—I wasn’t adding any real value to my clients’ lives. It didn’t spark joy for me. Sure, I hit my deadlines and produced quality content, but I never got the satisfaction of truly helping others through my work.
That’s why I started this blog—to genuinely help a few of you who might be going through the same struggles I did.
I love Orthodontics. Ever since my clinical postings in 3rd year, I’ve been fascinated by the subject. I’ve dreamed of becoming an Orthodontist since then, leading me to prepare for MDS. My preparation journey was tough, filled with health and personal challenges, but I persevered.
We all know NEET-MDS prep is a beast. It demands a support system and someone to guide us through the tough times. Now and then, everyone around us is caught up in their own preparation or other commitments, even our mentors at the coaching academy.
I want to be your virtual friend, someone you can turn to for advice and a friendly chat during your hectic day.
I aim to provide clarity on the MDS journey and support you through the preparation phase. While I don’t claim to be an expert, I have weathered the challenges of dental school and am eager to help fellow aspirants navigate this path.
If you have any burning questions about MDS, this blog is your go-to resource.
